Welcome to Kindred Kitchen: Our Brand Story

“I cannot believe how much my face hurts from smiling and laughing.”
“This whole meal was incredible—the quietest we’ve ever been at a table… at least while the food was in front of us.”
“Sublime. I’ve experienced some sort of culinary heaven.”
“Having this kind of time with my friends is rare, and you somehow made it even better.”

We’ve lost count of the conversations we’ve had with guests over the years, but they never—not once—grow old. The magic of time spent around a good meal is the salt of life. And Chef Anthony knows a thing or two about salt.

I’m Hannah, and Chef Anthony is my partner in life, on trails, and in this wild and wonderful profession. Welcome to Kindred Kitchen, your private chef and hostess duo in Utah, for fine dining at home or vacation rental meal experiences.

This isn’t a revolutionary concept—private chef services and intimate event planning—but it is our maiden voyage captaining our own ship. Are we nervous? Absolutely. Is this the first time we’ve set off into unfamiliar waters? Not even close. Three years ago we hauled a fifth-wheel camper across the country to chase our love of seasonal hospitality. But this? Launching our own business without the safety net of a steady paycheck?

Cue the nervous laughter.

So why do it?

Because curating the perfect meal experience is our heart and soul. Calling this a hobby-turned-profession feels like an undersell. And we’ve reached the crossroads of our careers:

One path is familiar—working for others, the way we always have. It comes with joys and ease, and also the realities of high turnover, spreadsheets that outweigh creativity, and leaders who sometimes forget the humanity of their team. Anyone who has worked in hospitality knows the industry isn’t always hospitable to the people who keep it running.

The other path is self-employment. Taking the wheel. Trusting ourselves fully. It sounds poetic until you’re sitting in the quiet, staring at your inbox, waiting for the first inquiry to land.

But we kept circling back to the same thing: those moments around our friends’ and families’ tables. The laughing-until-you-can’t-breathe moments. The savor-every-bite moments. The accidental burping-and-blaming-your-sister because Dad has arrived at the end of his patience, moments. The shared recipes and heartfelt praise. The spirited debates about family lore. New acquaintances were always welcome, because “the more the merrier” wasn’t a slogan—it was a way of life.

Anthony brings more than 30 years of French-trained culinary experience to our table, each year adding another layer of skill and soul to his cooking. I’ve spent my life moving through nearly every corner of hospitality—bussing, washing, serving, pouring, coordinating, managing, directing, event planning—gathering stories and lessons along the way. Together, we’ve learned how to create moments that linger long after the plates are cleared. We hold our guests’ time, comfort, and joy as something sacred.

And so, with equal parts courage and giddy excitement, we’re stepping forward as Kindred Kitchen. We can’t wait to meet you, to serve you, and to weave ourselves into the stories you’ll look back on fondly—of your time in Zion and Bryce Canyon and all the miles beyond, when a chef from Chicago and a hostess from Atlanta helped turn your vacation meals and special occasions into memories that feel like coming home.
